On Feb 25th, 2024, the Scicloj visual-tools group had its 21st meeting.
This was the first session on a short series about ggplot2, an R package for grammar-of-graphics data visualization.
A few Clojure library authors, blog authors, and datavis practitioners participated, and we had a good discussion.
Summary
- @respatialized read some comments from The Grammar of Graphics book by Leland Wilkinson
- we saw how to use ggplot2 from Clojure using ClojisR - see notes
- discussed some grammar concepts and their manifestation in ggplot
- read a bit in the GGplot2 Book by Hadley Wickham, Danielle Navarro, and Thomas Lin Pedersen
- discussed possible plans for similar libraries in Clojure
