On May 27th, we had the 18th meeting of the visual-tools group.

Summary

• Jérémy Vuillermet presented Mosaic, the prototype of a data-oriented design tool built in clojurescript and inspired by Bret Victor’s Dynamic visualisations.

• @kiramclean shared an update about the current status of the Clojure data cookbook.

• @daslu updated about the new Clojure data scrapbook project using Kindly - Clay - Quarto.

Watching Jérémy’s “Figma with dataflow” prototype was amazing! I’d really like to see a tool like this get real traction.

Perhaps “export Mosaic UI to data” would make sense? Then ship a mosaic as a dependency that I can use to hook the data-representing-my-ui to the rest of an app? I’m speculation – I don’t have much frontend programming experience, so I might missing something
